Terms of Service
Terms for driving lessons and training.
Last updated: 3 October 2026. By submitting an enquiry, or by booking lessons or training with Navigator Driver Training online, by phone or by any other means, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Eligibility and licences
Pupils must be aged 17 or over to take driving lessons, in line with UK law, and must hold a valid driving licence. Tell your instructor immediately if you receive any endorsement on your licence while you are having lessons.
You must pass the DVSA eyesight check before your lessons start. Your instructor will cancel lessons if you fail it, and may refuse to continue a lesson if they believe you are under the influence of drink or drugs.
Bookings, payment and prices
Payment is due before each lesson starts. We accept cash, debit card, credit card and bank transfer; we do not accept cheques. Block bookings are paid in advance and can be used as an intensive course booking.
We may change our hourly rates for new bookings and will give at least two weeks’ notice of any change.
Cancellations and changes
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel a lesson. If you give less notice, the full lesson fee is payable.
The length of each lesson is agreed in advance. If a lesson cannot run for its full length for reasons outside the instructor’s control, the remaining time is added to a later lesson. Lessons may be rearranged at short notice in the event of a vehicle breakdown or other circumstances outside our control.
During your lessons
Your instructor will teach you to drive in line with the DVSA syllabus, aiming for the minimum number of lessons you need. Their first priority is road safety, so they may need to take control of the vehicle.
We cannot be held responsible for mistakes made while you drive without your instructor, before or after passing your test, or for accidents, injury or damage to third parties caused by a pupil’s recklessness or negligence during a lesson.
Driving tests
A driving test may only be booked with the agreement of both you and your instructor, and we may decline to provide the tuition vehicle for a test. Use of the tuition vehicle on test day is charged at two hours at your hourly rate, covering the test and travel to and from the test centre. The DVSA test fee is paid separately, directly to the DVSA.
Driving instructor training
Instructor training fees and payment options are shown on our Become a Driving Instructor page. Training sessions can only take place while your account is in credit.
Photographs and reviews
If you agree, your instructor may take photographs or videos after your driving test and ask you for a review. Review requests may be sent by SMS or email from your instructor, Navigator Driver Training or a third-party review service such as Trustpilot.
Complaints
We handle complaints in line with the Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) Code of Practice. To raise a concern, email info@navigatordrivinguk.com.
Changes to these terms
Your instructor may agree additional terms with you, which apply only if you sign them. We may update these terms from time to time, and the current version will always be published on navigatordrivinguk.com.
